Not only is Sir still fighting the after-effects of being sick yesterday, He just about lost His voice ~ but i am not feeling so great either. i’m not actually sick yet, not officially, but i seem to be headed that way. Ugh.
My throat is scratchy and i feel just that slight bit of achy. And i’m coughing some.
Ok, enough about my symptoms. In other news, i’ve been dismayed and distressed by the video of the football players from Steubenville, released lately by Anonymous. i just saw it yesterday, and have been ruminating about it a bit.
i won’t link to it here, or dwell on it. It’s a huge trauma trigger and i’m not feeling well enough to deal with it anyhow.
Besides i’m busy blowing my nose. Like every 10 seconds. Ugh and more ugh.
Night owl did a lovely post on spirituality, and it helped me remember how it feels to have that connection – thanks, Night owl.
And i saw this on Facebook, that also made me feel good:

And on that note, i’m going to go exercise and get ready to do the things i have to do today.
P.S. i am taking my Vitamin D, as prescribed. i’m a good girl, i am. 🙂
I recommend Zicam Rapid melts (not a paid spokeswoman) when I feel a cold coming on.
That an of course Matzah Ball Soup!
Feel Better soon!
~faithful
Thanks, faithful, i’m a Zicam fan also! But i have no Matzah Ball soup. 🙁
Thanks for the good wishes,
aisha

Have you tried to gargle listerene? its nasty but it works. i hope you are getting some rest. Hugs to you, sugar.
No ma’am, i have not gargled with Listerene, but i did gargle with some mild salt water – do i get points for that???
Thanks for the hugs – back to you…
aisha
Good girl! And vit D is rumored to help prevent/shorten illness…let’s hope it does in your case! Sorry your Sir has been ill…that is no fun in *every* sense of the word. Hugs and whammies…
nilla
Thanks, ‘Nilla, Sir is better and is currently putting his energies into taking care of me, which is not all bad. Let’s hope that vitamin D works its magic for me!
hugs,
aisha
I hope that all you have is a little cold, and not the flu that I had most of December. Good healthy thoughts heading your way!
Thanks Wordwycth, we can use the good wishes… it better not be something like the flu you had. Hope you’re all better!
hugs,
aisha
Mine is finally gone. No sinus gunge, no more wracking cough. It only took a month.
I sure hope it’s a little teeny tiny cold that is soon gone. I’m jumping on the advice bandwagon to say lot’s of vitamin C. Tons. More than that. … and my great grandma’s recipe for a wonderful cough syrup… thinly slice some onions and garlic, sprinkle liberally with brown sugar, cover with a towel and let it set on the counter for a few hours. The brown sugar mixes with the juices of the onion and garlic and makes a syrup. It works, it really does.
Dear Monkey,
That is fascinating, Thank you. i seriously may have to try that recipe. You don’t cook it at all or put any liquid on it??
aisha
Nope, no cooking, no added liquid. The onion and sugar react to each other and make syrup.
Poor aisha….being sick sucks! I hate it! Hopefully one of these great suggestions by the others here will help you out!
I love the quote you put at the end of this post! “You are the result of the love of thousands.” That is awesome! I never really thought about it this way, but it is so true. Makes me get all thoughtful and philosophical….
Hope you feel better soon! (or, Yay, I am glad you are feeling better! Whichever is most appropriate! I am having to catch up on everyone’s posts from the last week or so, so I am a little behind, lol!)
